Wildlife Rescue Rangers Inc
Funding rehabilitate and release wildlife shelters
Our Mission
Our mission is to generate and distribute vital financial support to member wildlife shelters dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured, sick, and orphaned animals. By raising funds and awareness, we help these shelters secure the resources they need to deliver expert care, protect native species, and safeguard the future of our shared natural environment. Through fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement, we strive to strengthen the long-term viability of wildlife shelters and safeguard biodiversity for the future.
The more funds we raise, the more member shelters we can help.
We Need Your Help
We're raising funds to help wildlife shelters in Victoria. Please help us make a difference to our injured, sick or orphaned native wildlife by donating now.
About Us
Over 500 small wildlife shelters exist across Victoria, run by dedicated shelter operators, and staffed by volunteers. These shelters receive little to no funding from government for operating costs and are not open to the public for the benefit of the wildlife. Shelter operators bare the operating cost themselves. Small shelter operators don't always have the expertise or time to spend raising funds. That's where Wildlife Rescue Rangers Inc is helping. We formed an association of wildlife shelter operators to provide a platform for caring people to help fund the wildlife shelters that rehabilitate, and release injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife year-round. With countless hours spent nursing our wildlife back to health, it is a great help if the cost can be taken care of, at least in part, through donations. If you want to help our wildlife, please donate today. Wildlife Rescue Rangers Inc distributes the funds donated for the benefit of the community to registered member wildlife shelters.
Animal Rescue Stories
Phil the Possum
Phil the possum came to us from a local vet clinic after he had been attacked by a bird and taken to the vet by a caring member of the public. Phil was only a baby and needed to be syringe fed special milk formula every three hours. As he grew, he went to live at a shelter with some other young possums to learn how to be a wild possum. Phil was released after 9 months of rehabilitation.
Sherlock and Watson
Sherlock and Watson are two tawny frog mouths that were rescued by a caring sole in the Otways. Young tawny frog mouths often fall from their nests as their parents are not expert nest makers. Sherlock and Watson have been cared for by the Winchelsea Wildlife Shelter since October 2025. They have recently graduated to the large flight aviary and are expected to be released in a few months when they are fully matured and strong flyers.
Lets make a positive impact together
By helping our rehabilitate and release wildlife shelters do what they do best
All donations made over $2 are fully tax deductible
Why We Are Different
Wildlife Rescue Rangers Inc does not operate a call centre. We leave this to the wonderful folks at Wildlife Victoria (state-wide), Warriors 4 Wildlife (state-wide), and others. When these organisations receive a call and send a rescuer to rescue an injured or orphaned animal, these animals find their way to a wildlife shelter if they are well enough to be rehabilitated and released. That's where our funding goes. Directly to our member wildlife shelters that rehabilitate and release the animals back into the wild.
We do not have any paid staff, we do not have an office, we do not have equipment. We spend every single dollar or donation of items we receive helping member wildlife shelters do their work. We are fully run by volunteers and our administration costs are minimal and covered by members, so every cent you donate goes to a wildlife shelter in need. Additionally, donations over $2 are fully tax deductible.

Wildlife Rescue Rangers at your school or workplace
Wildlife Rescue Rangers Inc can also provide volunteers to speak to school children, community organisations or employees about the work we do caring for injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife. Participants are empowered with the knowledge of the vital role that our native wildlife play. These talks are a great way to educate and create enthusiasm for our wildlife and nature. Educating future generations is vital to safeguarding our biodiversity.
How your school, community group, or workplace can get involved: Some ideas to get involved with fundraising include holding a raffle or a sponsored walkathon as a fun way to raise funds through group activities. Please contact us to talk about fundraising ideas. Donations can always be made directly through the donations button on this website.
Our Team
